Clinics & Services
To see one of the nurses, make an appointment by contacting the receptionist. Nurses carry out the following procedures:
We carry out regular smears for women between the ages of 25 and 65. These should be carried out every 3 years for those under the age of 49 and every 5 years for those between ages of 50-65. There is an automatic recall system in place.
If you look after someone on a regular basis, you may benefit from some support from our team or Laura King from Carer Support Service.
Every autumn the practice offers flu injections to patients at risk. They include the elderly, diabetic, those with asthma or chronic chest complaints and congestive heart failure. If you need to have a flu vaccination, please contact the receptionist.
It is very important for children and babies to be immunised to protect them from dangerous diseases. Appointments can be arranged through the receptionist. We also offer adult immunisations for Tetanus, Polio, influenza, pneumonia and others required for travel, but not for occupational health.
For advice on the full range of travel immunisations you may need to make an appointment with one of the Practice Nurses. However we do operate these appointments on a first come basis and we might not be able to offer you any availability. In this case you will have to seek an appointment at a private travel clinic. Please plan ahead and arrange to attend 2-3 months ahead of travelling. A list of current charges is available on request as not everything is available on the NHS. You should check in advance the inoculations you require on www.masta-travel-health.com
